Wood River Duals
Pool A
C#5 Aquinas
Hershey
Raymond Central
Gibbon

Pool B
C#2 Broken Bow
D#4 Amherst
Wood River
Syracuse

If things go according to plan, we’ll see one of the top dual matchups of the year so far in Class C between Broken Bow and Aquinas. It would not be surprising if the two were to meet again at the state duals. It seems likely that both teams will cross paths with Amherst as well with Broken Bow meeting them for sure in pool play and Aquinas potentially after the initial pool matchups are done in a semifinal matchup. Assuming Broken Bow and Aquinas do meet up at some point there will be a 1 vs 2 matchup at 182 between Reimers and Brooks. Looks like Escandon from Gibbon might see his first action on the mat in a year and a half at 126 lbs. If the rust gets kicked off, he should be in the medal hunt at that weight. Should be plenty of quality matches here with 23 total ranked wrestlers coming from just eight teams. Lots of other tough wrestlers add depth makings this one of the top small school tournaments of the weekend.

Ord Duals
Pool A
B#4 Northwest
Ord
Adams Central
Clearwater/Orchard

Pool B
C#6 Arlington
D#6 Burwell
Central City
Conestoga

Weather has pushed the Ord Duals from Friday to Saturday this week. Northwest is a heavy favorite to emerge from Pool A. Pool B isn’t quite as clear. Central City has been on a tear in recent weeks and could well end up facing Northwest for the title. Arlington won the Kearney Catholic Duals a few weeks ago while Burwell finished 5th so look for Arlington and Central City to be the key matchup in that pool. The 120lb weight class is loaded with talent with four state medalists and six total qualifiers from last year. 20 ranked wrestlers in this field make it another tournament to watch this weekend.
