After posting 4 straight state duals berths at Plattsmouth, Curtis Gocke is moving onto the next challenge in his career as he has accepted the head coach position at Bellevue West. Gocke announced in late February that he was stepping down as the Plattsmouth Head Coach. In the 12 years that Gocke has been on staff at Plattsmouth (8 years as assistant coach and 4 as head coach), 7 of his athletes have gone on to wrestle in college.

The Bellevue West Thunderbirds scored 25 points at the 2018 Class A State Tournament and tied for 19th place. They return four underclassmen state qualifiers including freshman Jack McDdonnell who accrued a 35-19 season record and won 2 matches in the A152 bracket.
