Wolfe recorded five 1st period falls while Baldwin beat a returning state placer in the final round. Kearney finished 2nd in this 31-team tournament only 8 points behind Pomona (Colorado) who is ranked 21st in the nation by FloWrestling. The Bearcats thrust 3 wrestlers into the finals and Lee Herrington (285) was their lone champion. Herrington record 4 falls on his way to the title while Phillip Moomey (120) and Nick James (132) lost to returning Fargo champions in the finals. Moomey’s bracket included 4 Fargo All-Americans, and he earned an 8-0 win in the semifinals over a returning state finalist from Kansas. James beat a returning state champion from Kansas in his semifinal match. Brayden Smith (106) posted a 5-2 record finishing 5th, Teontae Wilson (145) posted a 3-3 record on his way to finishing 6th. Smith only lost to the eventual 3rd and 4th place finishers while Wilson lost to the eventual 2nd and 3rd place finishers. Sean Jackson finished 6th at 195 after rattling off 3 straight wins in consolation. Rylie Steele (7th at 113), Trey Grube (7th at 160), Reece Nicol (8th at 170), and Tyler Tracy (9th at 182) were Kearney’s other top-10 finishers.

Austin Coufal (120), Austin McDonald (145), Rajan Ellebb (195), and Jake Mayville (285) finished as runner-ups.

Liberty Invitational (Liberty, MO):
Lincoln East finished 5th out of 25 teams with Maxx Mayfield (113) leading the way, recording bonus point wins in 5 of his 6 wins on the weekend. Corbin Harrington (106) and Cade Kammerer (145) finished 4th while Nathan Rizek (120), Micah Odell (138), Peyton Aipperspach (195) and Grady Greenwood (220) finished 5th.
