Norfolk Invite:
Columbus won this 8-team tournament on the strength of champions Carter Kucera (113), Carson Zwingman (152), Zach Baldwin (170), Colton Wolfe (195) and Wyatt Olcott (220). Wolfe recorded five 1st period falls while Baldwin beat a returning state placer in the final round. Jesse Appel (132), Anthony DeAnda (160), Kasten Grape (182) and Cy Marshall (285) finished as runner-ups for the Discoverers. Tournament host Norfolk finished 17.5 points behind Columbus highlighted by champions Aaron Dittmer (106), Noah Matteo (120), and Alex Thompson (182) combining for 9 falls and 1 major decision. Brayden Splater (138) finished 2nd and Matthew Montgomery (220) forfeited in the finals. Other champions included Caden Frazier of Lincoln Northeast (126), Oscar Baird of Bellevue West (132), Nolan Koehler of Bellevue West (145), DJ Coleman of Millard North (160), and Brandon Eastlack of Millard North (285).

Rocky Welton Invitational (Garden City, KS):
Kearney finished 2nd in this 31-team tournament only 8 points behind Pomona (Colorado) who is ranked 21st in the nation by FloWrestling. The Bearcats thrust 3 wrestlers into the finals and Lee Herrington (285) was their lone champion. Herrington record 4 falls on his way to the title while Phillip Moomey (120) and Nick James (132) lost to returning Fargo champions in the finals. Moomey’s bracket included 4 Fargo All-Americans, and he earned an 8-0 win in the semifinals over a returning state finalist from Kansas. James beat a returning state champion from Kansas in his semifinal match. Brayden Smith (106) posted a 5-2 record finishing 5th, Teontae Wilson (145) posted a 3-3 record on his way to finishing 6th. Smith only lost to the eventual 3rd and 4th place finishers while Wilson lost to the eventual 2nd and 3rd place finishers. Sean Jackson finished 6th at 195 after rattling off 3 straight wins in consolation. Rylie Steele (7th at 113), Trey Grube (7th at 160), Reece Nicol (8th at 170), and Tyler Tracy (9th at 182) were Kearney’s other top-10 finishers.

Elkhorn South Duals:
Omaha Burke won their 4 duals by a combined score of 224-61 with their closest win being 36-28 over 3rd place Millard West. Bellevue East finished as the runner-ups scoring 177 points in their 3 wins with their closest dual being a 37-33 win over Millard West.

Millard South scored 151 more points than the runner-up team and punched wrestlers into the finals in 13 weight classes. The Patriots left the tournament with 11 champions as Blake Jackson (106), Alex Vacha (113), Austin Coufal (120), Creighton Baughman (126), Nathan Rodriguez (132), Zac Charity (138), Ricky Hayden (145), Connor Olin (152), Isaac Trumble (160), Braden Trimble (170), and Doug Weidner (182) won their brackets. Austin Coufal (120), Austin McDonald (145), Rajan Ellebb (195), and Jake Mayville (285) finished as runner-ups.

Liberty Invitational (Liberty, MO):
Lincoln East finished 5th out of 25 teams with Maxx Mayfield (113) leading the way, recording bonus point wins in 5 of his 6 wins on the weekend. Corbin Harrington (106) and Cade Kammerer (145) finished 4th while Nathan Rizek (120), Micah Odell (138), Peyton Aipperspach (195) and Grady Greenwood (220) finished 5th. Lincoln High finished in 13th place with Isaiah Alford (170) and Mohammed Majid (285) both finishing 3rd.

McCook Duals:
North Platte forfeited 3 weight classes, and only lost their duals by 1, 12, 13, and 26 points. They were the lone class A school at this dual tournament.

Michael Colling (106) and Nolan Johnston (170) finished 3rd while four others finished in the top 5.

Monarch Duals (Papillion-La Vista):
Papillion-La Vista South finished went 4-1 in duals and finished 3rd, while Lincoln Southeast went 3-1 and finished 4th. The Titans had 3 wrestlers post undefeated records while Lincoln Southeast had 2 wrestlers post undefeated records.

Rob Jensen (152), Gabe James (160), Noah Hilton (195) and Dajour Willis (220) finished as runner-ups for the Rams. For Fremont, Cody Fielder (113), Noah Malzahn (120), Cody Carlson (126), Dawson Pritchett (138) and Gage Harbaugh (160) won their brackets while six others finished in the top 6. Luke Tasler (132) was the lone champion for Lincoln Pius X, and Nick McCarthy (126), Austin Miller (145) and Greg Dalton (182) finished as runner-ups. Creighton Prep had 2 champions in Eamon Morrison (145) and Jack Hasz (220). The two other champions were Kylan Byars of Omaha Northwest (152) and Javone Malone of Omaha Benson (195).

Lincoln Southwest finished in 2nd place only 30 points behind tournament host Skutt Catholic. Justin Shaw (182) and Connor Clanton (220) brought home titles for the Silverhawks while John Nelson (132), Tyler Carstens (160) and Jarrett Myers (195) finished as runner-ups. Omaha Central finished 5th place with Dax Galloway leading the way with 4 falls and 1 major decision on his way to the title at 152. Eron Haynes (126) finished 2nd beating a class B returning state champion and Tre’Vion Williams finished 2nd only losing to the 2nd ranked wrestler in class B.
