Over 3,000 wrestlers from more than 40 states were represented at Preseason Nationals this past weekend in Des Moines, IA. One Nebraskan won a national title, three finished as runner-ups, and twelve others became All-Americans in their respective weight classes.

Mia Anderson won a national title in the 53-57 bracket in the 10 and Under Girls Division. During the tournament, she recorded 2 falls and an 11-4 win over fellow Nebraskan Madyn Overman in the finals. Overman won 4-3 and 4-2 in the quarterfinals and semifinals respectively to advance to the finals. Mara Vanderpool also finished as a runner-up (63-68), as she won 5-2 in the quarterfinals and earned a fall in the semifinals before losing to an opponent from Florida in the finals.

Terrance Crawford Jr finished as the runner-up in the 55 bracket in the 1st-2nd grade division. He recorded 2 falls and 2 majors on his way to the finals, and only lost 5-3 to his opponent from Texas.
