Council Bluffs Classic:
Kearney’s 3rd place team finish was the highest out of all Nebraska teams at the 39-team tournament. The Bearcats had 7 wrestlers place in the top 8 of their weight classes, and received commendable performances from Phillip Moomey (3rd) and Nick James (3rd) and Lee Herrington (4th). Millard West finished in 12th place, which was the next highest placing team from Nebraska. They had 4 placers and Doug Vawter was the only class A wrestler to finish 2nd. He was joined by teammates Zebley (113), Huffman (120), and Holman (138) who also placed in the top 8. Maxx Mayfield continues to earn wins over ranked wrestlers in his weight class, and also gave the #2 ranked wrestler in Iowa (3A) a 6-5 match in the quarterfinals.

Millard South went 10-0 in dual meets outscoring their opponents 651-116. Creighton Baughman (126), Nate Rodriguez (132), Connor Olin (152), Braden Trimble (170) all went undefeated while Blake Jackson (106), Zac Charity (138), and Isaac Trumble (160) only lost 1 match. Jackson and Charity were both up a weight class in their lone losses. Carter Kucera (113), Colton Wolfe (195) and Cy Marshall (285) finished 10-0 and Carson Zwingman (152) finished with a 9-1 record to lead Columbus to a 9-1 dual record. Other notable performances from class A wrestlers include Josh Via of Elkhorn South finishing with a 10-0 record and Alex Thompson of Norfolk with a 9-1 record.

Bellevue East outscored 5 teams at their home tournament 274-89 to take the title. Bryce Alderette (106), Derek Wagstaff (138), Kyle Waring (145), and Joel Anstine (285) all went undefeated and 7 more wrestlers went 4-1 for the Chieftains. Lincoln Southeast finished as team runner-ups with Adam Kinnaman (126), Chance Fry (132), Preston Gallegos (160), and Cody Kirby (220) recording 5-0 records. Other undefeated wrestlers on the day where Jayson Scott (113), Jordan Barber (120), Josh Jansa (152), Braiden Ruffin (170) and Darlondo Hill (182).

Boys Town Invitational:
Brothers Emilio (106) and Eron Haynes (126) finished as runner-ups at the Boys Town Invitational, both losing to tough Skutt opponents in the finals. They both scored semifinal bonus point wins over top 6 ranked class B opponents. In the 126 finals Eron scored a quick first takedown off the opening whistle, but lost 6-5 to three-time state champion Korbin Meink.

Beau Haizlip Invitational:
Lincoln Southeast won the tournament with 233.5 points to Fremont’s 195 points on the strength of 9 finalists. They came away with 3 champions in Adam Kinnaman (126), Devon Lee (138) and Nathan Gunther (145). 4th ranked Kinnaman earned a 22-14 major decision over #5 Carlson of Fremont, Lee won 6-5 over Pritchett of Fremont, and Gunther earned a major decision over Reiger of Fremont. Fremont also had 8 finalists and 3 champions with Cody Fielder (113), Noah Molzahn (120), and Justin Pettit (182). Lincoln Pius X had 5 champions including Isaac Feltes (152), Josh Guerra (160), Michael Cisneros (195), Steven Kerr (220), and Robbie Farber (285).

Riverside Invitational (Oakland, IA):
Papillion- La Vista South was the lone class A team here and they finished in 2nd place behind Logan Magnolia of Iowa. The Titans placed 11 wrestlers in the top 4, and advanced 5 to the finals with Gabe Durden (106) and Maison Clark (138) bringing home titles. Durden pinned all 4 of his opponents and only 2 of his matches lasted longer than the first period. Clark earned 3 falls and a 11-4 decision in the finals over a previously undefeated wrestler from Iowa.

Crete Invite:
Omaha Bryan and Lincoln Northstar were the only class A teams participating, and they finished 8th and 12th respectively. For the bears, Aweys Salat finished 2nd and earned a solid 21-17 win over 113B #2 Dubs of Seward in the semifinals. Ladamien Sturdivant finished 3rd for Omaha Bryan while Vu Dinh (113) was Northstar’s highest placer checking in at 4th place.

Duster Scramble (Holdrege Invitational):
Lincoln Southwest took home the team title finishing 60 points ahead of class C Broken Bow thanks to 6 individual champions including Jaxon Morrow (106), Chayton Koch (126), Tyler Carstens (160), Justin Shaw (182), Jarrett Myers (195), and Connor Clanton (220). Morrow, Kock, and Shaw recorded 3 falls on the day and every win earned the Silverhawks bonus points. Carstens earned 3 falls before a 6-2 win in the finals, while Jarrett Myers earned 2 falls and a big 3-1 win over 195#2 Jaret Matson in the first tiebreaker. 220 was the deepest weight of the tournament with the top 3 finishers being ranked in the top 4 of their classifications. Clanton recorded decisions over the other ranked wrestlers and 2 falls in his other matches. The Silverhawks had 5 other wrestlers place in the top 3.
